This comment is sort of off-point, but I wanted to make sure you saw the HuffPo link to the Christian Science Monitor story about the importance of media and Internet "watchdogs," of which I consider Gastriques to be sharp-toothed doberman. http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2008/08/20/watchdogs-make-it-harder-for-politicians-to-stretch-the-truth/
Thanks for this, one of many things I missed today. Amazing that these guys get to say whatever they wanna say and no one challenges them as long as they have a toothless "response" from the other side.
The old Mark Twain saying about a lie traveling around the world before the truth can pull on its pants has never been truer. That laudatory Cindy story from the WSJ will not die even after salient details have been debunked.
A k a Regina Schrambling, I write once a week at the base camp but come across things between Sundays that are worth sharing. I suspect my emailing list is plumb tuckered out from clicking on everything I send around, though. And so I’ve sold my soul to the Google.
